Description
The Museum is named after the famous German neoclassicist who was mysteriously murdered in Trieste during his stay in room number ten of the Osteria Grande, in Piazza San Pietro (now Piazza Unità D'Italia). The Museum is located along Via della Cattedrale and houses a rich collection ranging from the Prehistory of the Trieste Karst to Roman collections from nearby Aquileia and the Mediterranean, including an Egyptian collection with sarcophagi, papyrus sheets, statues and steles.
