Description

Are we looking for a nice walk that leads us from the city center to discover the Val Rosandra nature reserve?
The Cottur cycle / pedestrian path is then the right path for us!

Following the route of the ancient railway line that connected Trieste to the Kozina station, the route extends for 16 km on a slight slope. Paved in the first section, it turns into a wide dirt road up to Val Rosandra. During the journey we will be able to reach numerous panoramic points, cross the old viaducts and walk through the tunnels dug into the rock. A pleasant route suitable for all seasons and all ages! Recently the route in Slovenian territory has been revised. Now, after a few hundred meters from the entrance to Slovenia, the route deviates from the original one of the former railway, going up towards the town of "Mihele" and then joining the VIA ALPINA towards Mount Cucusso which, wanting to cover it all, takes us to Munich.
