Castello di Miramare

Description

Il Castello di Miramare è l'emblema dell'amore che l'Arciduca Massimiliano d'Asburgo fratello dell'imperatore Francesco Giuseppe, provava per la città di Trieste.
Qui, su un'arido promontorio a picco sul mare, l'Arciduca decise nel 1860 di costruire la sua residenza e circondarla da un immenso parco piantumato di 22 ettari. L'impeto degli eventi, che portarono Massimiliano d'Asburgo, divenuto nel frattempo Imperatore del Messico a morire e successivamente la sua sposa ad una sorta di pazzia, lasciò sul castello un'aura di mistero: tanto bello quanto maledetto...
