Description
Piazza Giuseppe Verdi owes its name to the main theater of Trieste, named after the famous Italian composer.
The Theater, built in 1801 is, to all intents and purposes, one of the longest operating theaters in Italy and with its large 1300-seat main hall, every year offers its guests a billboard full of events ranging from opera to operetta, and the ballet. The building as a whole is the work of several architects: externally, the similarity with the famous "Scala" in Milan is striking, while internally the richness of its fittings is amazing, entrusted to the Architect who built the famous "Fenice" in Venice. The well-kept Piazza Verdi is part of the large pedestrian area that includes Piazza Unità d'Italia and Piazza della Borsa, which are all interconnected and fully represent "the exclusive place" of the city.
