Description
The Museum is a little gem just a stone's throw from Piazza Unità.
Once inside, visitors are taken on a short journey that traces the relationship between Trieste and the East, which began in the 18th century and developed in the 19th century thanks to the construction of the Suez Canal, which allowed the port of Trieste to be connected to the distant coasts of India, China and Japan. Inside the Museum, there are wonderful collections of fabrics, clothes, porcelains and sculptures. The jewel in the crown is undoubtedly the original, unique collection of prints of the Ukiyo-e, or Floating World, with works by the great masters of Japanese art.
