Description
Il toponimo Servola, con cui già in tempo antico è stato denominato un territorio collinare periferico all'abitato cittadino, aveva riferimento alla configurazione boscosa e agreste del luogo. Dell’assistenza religiosa assicurata ai fedeli del posto da parte dei canonici della Cattedrale parlano documenti medioevali e di una piccola chiesa cimiteriale colà esistente si ha notizia nel 1338 riportata dagli Statuti del Capitolo Cattedrale. Era dedicata a S. Lorenzo Martire.
