Description

📍 The "Scala dei Giganti" (Staircase of the Giants), as the name suggests, is a monumental staircase that connects the center of Trieste (🛕 Piazza Carlo Goldoni) to the Parco della Rimembranza 🌳 and then to San Giusto Hill, with its Castle 🏰 and Cathedral ⛪.

⬆️ Climbing all the 200+ steps is not only a great workout for your heart ❤️‍🔥, but also an opportunity to enjoy unique and unexpected views of the city 🏙️.

The staircase, designed by the architect Berlam, gained fame for being one of the main backdrops in the Italian TV series “La Porta Rossa” 🎬.

👀 From Piazza Goldoni, if you look to the left side of the staircase, you can still see the word “Il Piccolo” 📰 painted on the side of a building — a reminder that this is where Trieste’s historic newspaper was born.
